'The lighthouse' is an abstract figurative work about home and safety, the connection of people to a place, each having an effect on the other so they merge and become inseparable. The feeling of home may be the place itself or what we ourselves bring there. In another way it is about this time and my feeling around being so static without the possibility of travel. The figure has become entwined with the architecture almost trapped or held there, part of her striving to become free of the ridged forms anchoring her. The Fracture in the stone comments on the fragility of this environment and the ability to heal and reform. - Anna Korver
