”My work has always been an investigation into humanity, questioning ideals and the structures by which humanity is constrained. I have an ideas based practice, where the concept for the work drives the outcome and determines the medium used to realize the artwork. With outcomes including printmaking, painting, cast bronze, planted gardens, performance, video and social projects. For me art is a vehicle to voice my thoughts around injustices past and present. Using the communication of knowledge and a drive to connect with and engage an audience in thinking around an issue. My work aims to simplify a complex world, looking at values and what is really important. By discovering a real need and finding a real and logical solution, every project I embark on is deeply connected to personal experience.” A.D. Schierning
